Uploading of Tom’s Black Book Commencing

During the latter stages of his ‘Anstey’ surname and family research, Tom (Thomas John Edmund Anstey – one of the chief researchers of this Anstey project) drew some quite extraordinary pedigrees into a huge black scrapbook that he had bought for the purpose in 1913, known today as the ‘Black Book’. It has become one of the greatest Anstey ancestral heirlooms that we possess, not only for Stoke Gifford Ansteys, but for various Devon sub-branches too.

We have now created a page on the Anstey project website for Tom‘s Black Book with some background information so that it can be enjoyed by all, and we will presently begin uploading photos of the various pedigrees that Tom drew.
