We have uploaded to the World War One Roll of Honour a biography of Daniel Anstey of the Dyrham Ansteys, who signed up for active service right at the start of the war and whose name “was the first on the first list of recruits for the new battalion [12th (Bristol’s Own) Gloucestershire Regiment – a Pals Battalion]“.
Anybody who has information they would like to add to this biography, please contact us at research@theansteystory.com.
Anybody who has researched their Anstey ancestors’ wartime heroics and wishes for their findings to be uploaded to the Anstey story project website, feel free to contact us.

Thanks for all the information! Daniel is my grandfather!

Nice! Do you have any information clarifying his marriages? For example the exact year of Daniel’s first marriage and the surname and marriage location of the second wife? I was not able to locate them…Gary (research@theansteystory.com)
