We have begun to map the pedigree of the Wentworth County, Ontario Ansteys of Canada, which consists currently of a series of unconnected clues. Given that Hamilton in Wentworth County is a port, it is highly unlikely that any ‘Anstey’, Ansty’, ‘Anstee’ and ‘Anstie’s living there will form a single coherent sub-branch – it is more likely they used it as a transit point on the way to other places in Canada or America.
We are actively on the lookout for anybody who is willing to add their specialist knowledge of the Wentworth County, Ontario Ansteys to this Anstey story project.
