William Benjamin Anstee World War One Hero

We have uploaded to the World War One Roll of Honour a biography of William Benjamin Anstee of the Barnet Anstees, who signed up for active service with the Hertfordshire Yeomanry as a Private right at the outset of war and entered the ‘Egypt Theatre of War’ in November 1914. In January 1917 he was ‘mentioned in despatches‘ for distinguished and gallant services and devotion to duty in France.

Anybody who has information they would like to add to this biography, or can fill in some of the gaps in his war story, please contact us at research@theansteystory.com.

Anybody who has researched their Anstey ancestors’ wartime heroics and wishes for their findings to be uploaded to the Anstey story project website, feel free to contact us.
