Edward Anstey World War One Hero

We have uploaded to the World War One Roll of Honour a biography of Edward Anstey of a currently unknown sub-branch, who grew up in Abergavenny and fought during the war with various Machine Gun Battalions as a Machine Gunner. He spent three months in hospital with “shell shock with D. A. H?” in late 1917/early 1918 and then courageously returned to the Front.

Anybody who has information they would like to add to this biography, or can add details regarding Edward‘s Anstey ancestry and how (if) he connects to the Anstey pedigree, please contact us at research@theansteystory.com – we suspect that in fact he may be an ‘Anstey evolved from another surname‘.

Anybody who has researched their Anstey ancestors’ wartime heroics and wishes for their findings to be uploaded to the Anstey story project website, feel free to contact us.
