We have uploaded to the Pre-World War One Roll of Honour a biography of Gerald Spalding Anstey of the Broadclyst Ansteys, who joined the Army at the very young age of 15 and was still serving with the Devonshire Regiment at the outbreak of the Second Boer War in 1899. After fighting in that conflict, Gerald settled in South Africa, though we have few details.
Anybody who has information they would like to add to this biography, or can elaborate on Gerald’s post-Second Boer War life, please contact us at research@theansteystory.com.
Anybody who has researched their Anstey ancestors’ wartime heroics and wishes for their findings to be uploaded to the Anstey story project website, feel free to contact us.
