We have uploaded to the World War One Roll of Honour a biography of Charles Arthur Anstey of the Bradninch Ansteys, who volunteered for active service right at the outset of war, fighting in the Battle of Messines in June 1917 and then during skirmishes leading up to the Third Battle of Ypres, he suffered a gunshot wound to his right knee which effectively ended his war.
Anybody who has information they would like to add to this biography please contact us at research@theansteystory.com.
Anybody who has researched their Anstey ancestors’ wartime heroics and wishes for their findings to be uploaded to the Anstey story project website, feel free to contact us.
