We have uploaded to the World War One Roll of Honour a biography of Leonard Francis Anstey of the Birmingham Ansteys, who volunteered for active service in November 1915 and was posted to the 1/14th Battalion London Regiment (London Scottish – Service Number: 5539). He fought at Gommecourt from the beginning of the Battle of the Somme in July 1916 until his death at the Battle of Flers Corcellette a couple of months later.
