Overview of the Clase, Swansea Ansteys
The Clase, Swansea Ansteys of Glamorgan are a sub-branch of the Bathealton Ansteys. The co-patriarchs of the Clase, Swansea Ansteys are two brothers John Anstey (CL 1 – b 1846 Bristol) and Henry Anstey (CL 2 – b 1849 Bristol), who arrived in Swansea from Bristol in c1875 or so. This sub-branch includes neighbouring Morriston.

#1. The ‘Bristol Mercury‘ 01 January 1848 edition reported that Henry Anstey “bootmaker, son of Henry Anstey” married Rachel Bevan – both were “of Swansea“. We cannot find any more clues about this couple.
