Items Currently Available

Item 1: Hire an ‘Anstey’ Genealogy Expert

The researchers on this Anstey Story project have spent many thousands of hours researching the ‘Anstey’, Ansty’, ‘Anstee’ and ‘Anstie’ family. Rather than ‘reinvent the wheel’ researching your ‘Anstey’ ancestors, why not hire an ‘Anstey’ expert who likely has already discovered much of what you seek.

Prices are USD $50 per hour of research performed, payable in advance.

Contact us at shop@theansteystory.com for more information.

Item 2: Purchase an Individual ‘Anstey’ Biography

There are almost 2,000 ‘Anstey’, Ansty’, ‘Anstee’ and ‘Anstie’ biographies on this website and we are adding more details and biographies all the time – each individual ‘Anstey’ biography that is currently available for access is referenced by a 3 or 4 character code (like ‘CO 11’ for example). These biography codes can be found on the relevant sub-branch page – see Principal Anstey Sub-Branches for a complete listing of each Anstey sub-branch and links to the sub-branch pages.

The cost to access is USD $9.99 per individual biography. Please note the following:

  • For this price you get access to ONE Anstey biography – in the biographies there are usually links to other Anstey biographies (for example their parents, siblings and children) which you would have to pay for separately, should you desire to access them (an additional USD $9.99 for each biography).
  • You are purchasing ‘as is’ access to the biography – be warned some Anstey biographies have no more information in them than who the individual married and the names of their children, others have a huge amount of detail of the individual’s life. If you wish to know more before purchasing, email us at shop@theansteystory.com and we will let you know if the biography you are considering purchasing is ‘very basic’, ‘basic’, ‘normal’, ‘detailed’ or ‘very detailed’.
  • We make no guarantees whatsoever as to the accuracy of any biographies – all we can say is that they are the most up to date information that we have and that we have made our best endeavours to ensure accuracy and correctness.
  • If you can add substantially to the biography in question in terms of providing additional information on the Anstey individual’s life that we do not currently have, we will be happy to offer a 50% discount on your next ‘Anstey’ biography purchase.
  • Pricing for bundles of ‘Anstey’ biographies (for example purchasing access to all 35 Stoke Gifford Anstey biographies) are available on request.

Anybody who is interested please email us at shop@theansteystory.com with the 3 or 4 character code referencing the ‘Anstey’ whose biography you seek. Once payment has been received we will send you the password to access the relevant page.

M. Anstey in May 2023.

Item 9: The Anstey Ancestral Scroll

For the true ‘Anstey’, Ansty’, ‘Anstee’ and ‘Anstie’ connoisseur, the Anstey Ancestral Scroll is the perfect gift. Completely customised and personalised to each individual, it contains a brief three or four line biography of the recipient’s life (written by you or them depending on whether it is a surprise gift or not), above which is a brief biography of their father’s life (written by you or them), above which is a brief biography of their ‘Anstey’ grandfather, then a brief biography of their ‘Anstey’ great grandfather (written by us), then a brief biography of their ‘Anstey’ great x 2 grandfather (written by us) etc etc right back as far as we can go, which in the case of 84% of ‘Anstey’, Ansty’, ‘Anstee’ and ‘Anstie’ alive today is to Hubert de Anesti, the founding father of the Ansteys who lived in the 12th century. If so desired, we can then add a further four generations of brief biographies of Hubert de Anesti’s pre-Anstey Norman ancestry to the top of the scroll.

As can be seen in the scroll in the photo above, which hangs proudly on Anstey Researcher Gary. M. Anstey‘s wall today, that adds up to a potential 35 or so generations of biographies in a single scroll. However be warned, the cost is not cheap, at around USD $1,000, depending on the Anstey sub-branch the recipient belongs to. Please note the following:

  • Only 84% of ‘Anstey’, Ansty’, ‘Anstee’ and ‘Anstie’ connect to Hubert de Anesti – for the other 16% the scroll would be much shorter, likely only going back about 10 generations or so. As such it would be much cheaper (perhaps USD$500 or so, depending on the sub-branch – contact us at shop@theansteystory.com for more information).
  • For most Anstey sub-branches there are gaps at certain points, where we cannot complete the biography of certain Anstey ancestors at certain generations as we know nothing about them except that they existed – in some such cases we do not even know their first name. However, for almost all Anstey sub-branches we can document the lives at least 80% of the direct Anstey ancestors between the recipient and Hubert de Anesti, and for most sub-branches that figure is over 90%.
  • Why so expensive? This is not some mass-produced generalised ‘Las Vegas’ style touristy junk – it is a completely customised and personalised scroll detailing what we know of the lives of the direct Anstey ancestors of the recipient. That takes a lot of time to research and piece together, as it is different for each recipient.
  • You have a choice of either buying the scroll in pdf form, which you can then print out yourself, or for an additional charge we can print the scroll for you onto ‘olde worlde‘ ‘scroll’ paper together with the scroll handles attached top and bottom per the above photo and send it to you.

Anybody who is so interested please email us at shop@theansteystory.com.
