William Robert Anstey World War One Hero

We have uploaded to the World War One Roll of Honour a biography of William Robert Anstey, a member of a currently unknown sub-branch, who was a sailor born in 1892 in Georgetown, British Guiana to parents Captain John Anstey, a sailor of Georgetown, British Guiana and Joanna Bentham. William served with the ‘3rd Canadian Labour Battalion’ in France in 1917 and 1918 and then after the war settled in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada.

Anybody who has information they would like to add to this biography, or can help us to connect William to his Anstey sub-branch, please contact us at research@theansteystory.com.

Anybody who has researched their Anstey ancestors’ wartime heroics and wishes for their findings to be uploaded to the Anstey story project website, feel free to contact us.
